A 60-year-old woman living in Wisconsin (USA) claims to have decided to convert to Islam after being impressed by the teachings of one of the characters that appears in the famous Turkish series “Resurrection: Ertuğrul”. It was through Netflix as this woman, formerly Christian and now calling herself Khadija, met this series in which one of the characters, the Muslim scholar Ibn-i Arabi, is the protagonist’s spiritual mentor. “His words made me cry a few times,” she explains. “The series caught my attention because of what it says about God, Islam, peace, justice and helping the oppressed … I had questions about my faith in my mind, and the series clarified them,” says this mother of 6, who now dreams of travelling to Turkey and visiting Ertuğrul’s tomb.
