The heavy rains that have affected a large part of Turkey in recent days have caused serious floods in several provinces of the Black Sea region, on the north coast of the country, especially affecting Kastamonu, Samsun, Sinop, Amasya and Çorum, causing for now at least two dead and leaving one person missing, in addition to extensive material damage, dragging trees, animals and cars.
Many people have had to be evacuated by local authorities, who have asked other residents to evacuate the lower floors of the buildings, and decreed the closure of schools for at least one day. Kastamonu, one of the most affected provinces, already suffered two years ago one of the worst floods that this region of Turkey has suffered in decades, causing more than 80 deaths.
