A match in the Turkish women‘s football league ended in an unprecedented brawl, when players from Diyarbakır’s Amedspor attacked the players from Istanbul’s Fenerbahçe after they scored a last-minute penalty goal, which gave the Istanbul team a 1-2 victory. The goal sparked the anger of the spectators and the players of Amedspor, who were playing at home, and the Fenerbahçe players had to leave the field escorted by police. Admedspor however holds Fenerbahçe responsible for the incidents, claiming that they “provoked their players”.
