Turkish video game industry now worth over $1 billion

Turkish video games industry is set to surpass the $1 billion mark in 2025 after registering an annual growth of 25%, according to the latest ‘Turkey Video Games Market Report 2025″ produced annually by marketing agency Gaming in Turkey MENA EU.

The 2025 edition of the report, which the company has been publishing continuously for a decade, provides an updated snapshot of the gaming sector and its main trends, Turkish media reported. The document points out that the size of the video game market in Turkey, which in 2024 was around $810 million, surpassed the $1 billion threshold in 2025, reaching a volume of $1.01 billion. At the same time, the growth in Turkish lira terms was 51.46% compared to the previous year.

The report further states that the number of internet users in Turkey stands at approximately 77 million, while the internet usage rate among the population aged 16-74 has reached 90.9%. As for the Turkish active player base, it is close to 50 million people, with a gender distribution of 46% female and 54% male.

In a statement, Gaming in Turkey MENA EU CEO Ozan Aydemir said that the period of rapid and uncontrolled growth in the global gaming sector has come to an end, giving way now to a phase focused on specialisation and consolidation.

Aydemir explained that the growth engine of the video games industry no longer depends solely on adding new players, but on the degree of user engagement with their gaming environments and effective management of player communities. “While the infrastructure in Turkey is getting stronger and reaching players is technically easier than ever, the competition for players’ time and attention is now more intense than ever,” he said.
