Turkey, office became a home for cats

This office in Turkey has become a home for 15 cats

This office in a university in Turkey has become a home to up to 15 cats, who live with computers and staff and find shelter here, especially in the colder months. “It’s like therapy, they are good against stress,” says Sinan Balcı, head of the IT department at Adnan Menderes University in Aydın, western Turkey. Actually, cats have more right to be here: Hacer is a cat that already lived here when the building was under construction, and when it was finished, she and two other cats became friends with the new employees; later, Hacer gave birth to 6 kittens, and then 6 more stray cats joined them. Now, they are an inseparable part of the place. “The cats are always here, they wait for us at the door every morning to come in. They are part of the staff, they start the day with us and leave when we finish; sometimes we go to another building and they accompany us. We would never think of sending them to a shelter, they were already here before we arrived”, sentence Balcı.
