Turkish President inaugurates the third runway at Istanbul Airport

The third runway at Istanbul Airport was opened on Sunday by Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan, along with a new control tower. The new runway will allow planes to land and take off at the airport at the same time. Istanbul Airport currently flies to 350 destinations and has a capacity of 90 million passengers per year; once it is complete and has 6 operational runways, it will be able to accommodate 200 million passengers annually.
