Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Agency confirmed on Sunday that an earthquake of magnitude 5.8 degrees had struck the province of Bingöl, in eastern Turkey, with an epicentre in the municipality of Karlıova. The earthquake, which could be felt in other provinces of the region, broke out at 17:24 local time, only 5 km deep and lasted 10 seconds, and was followed by almost 50 aftershocks of up to 4.7 degrees. So far one death, 18 injuries, and damage to various buildings have been reported.
