Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a security alert for Turkish citizens who are in Sudan, asking them to stay inside their homes and not go out in the face of the wave of violence suffered by the country and especially the capital, Khartoum, and which has already left close to a hundred civilians dead. In case of emergency, the ministry asks its citizens to contact the Turkish embassy or consular authorities. Ankara claims to be following the situation “very closely” and strongly discourages travel to Sudan, which keeps its airspace closed to flights.
