Turkey’s Defence Ministry confirmed on Friday that fighter jets had intercepted up to 6 Greek F-16 fighters that had taken off from Crete and were flying over the Eastern Mediterranean area where Turkey is prospecting for gas. After detecting them on radar, F-16 fighters of the Turkish army took off to intercept and escort them out of the area, in what Ankara sees as a new attempt at provocation by Greece.
