Turkey successfully tests its first space rocket

Turkey announced on Saturday that it had successfully tested its first space rocket, in a major step forward in its space exploration program. Developed by Roketsan, the rocket was launched from the coast of İğneada, in the province of Kırklareli, in the Turkish Thrace region. In 2021, Turkish President Erdoğan announced a 10-year plan to boost Turkey’s space program, which includes sending unmanned missions to the Moon, developing its own artificial satellites, and sending a Turkish astronaut into space.
