Erdoğan calls for UN reform: “The world is bigger than 5”

Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan once again called for a profound reform of the UN during the United Nations General Assembly in New York, to give it more representativeness and capacity to solve problems in today’s world. “The world is bigger than 5,” he insisted, referring to the 5 permanent member countries of the Security Council, the only ones with the right to veto: a structure that emerged from World War II and that nowadays has become obsolete.
