Turkish Olympic medallists of the Tokyo Olympic Games were greeted yesterday upon their return to Turkey as heroes, after making history in the Olympic Games, where Turkey has won 13 medals (2 gold, 2 silver and 9 bronze), the highest number ever achieved by the country in Olympics. The two gold medals went to Mete Gazoz in archery, and to boxer Buzenaz Sürmeneli in the women’s boxing category of 69 kilos. Another boxer, Buse Naz Çakıroğlu, and Turkish karateka Eray Şamdan, took both silver medals.
