Turkey, tribute to Ertuğrul Gazi

Tribute in Turkey to Ertuğrul on the 740th anniversary of his death

A two-day tribute began yesterday in Söğüt, a town in northwestern Turkey where Ertuğrul Gazi, father of Osman (the founder of the Ottoman Empire), famous for the Turkish series “Resurrection Ertuğrul”, died in 1281. The tribute began with a religious ceremony by the authorities at the tomb of Ertuğrul, and later with a performance before a monument dedicated to the great figures in the history of Turks.
