At least 100 people have died and some 4,000 have been injured after the gigantic explosion that occurred on Tuesday in a warehouse in the port of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, and whose power was such that it created an atomic mushroom and generated a 4-degree earthquake and smashed the glass of all buildings for several kilometres around, reaching Cyprus, 200 km away. Hospitals, with no place for the wounded, appealed to donate blood. The tragedy hits a country already battered by the crisis and the coronavirus pandemic. Turkey has already offered the country “whatever help” it needs.
