Sweden believes that Turkey will approve its entry into NATO after the elections

Sweden‘s Prime Minister, Ulf Kristersson, affirmed today that in his opinion Turkey will quickly approve its entry into NATO once the elections on May 14 in the Eurasian country are concluded. Kristersson made the remarks during a press conference in Berlin with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who in turn described the accession of Finland and Sweden to the Atlantic Alliance as “critical for our security.” For his part, Finnish President Sauli Niinisto, who will arrive in Turkey on Thursday invited by Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan, has said that he hopes that Erdoğan will ratify Finland’s entry into NATO during the meeting that both will hold in Ankara.
