Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan confirmed on Wednesday during a speech to members of his Justice and Development Party (AKP) that he is keeping the date of May 14 to hold the presidential and parliamentary elections in Turkey, despite the recent earthquakes that They have devastated the southeast of the country, causing more than 45,000 deaths and leaving more than a million people homeless. “The time is coming, this nation will do whatever it takes on May 14,” Erdoğan said, criticizing the opposition for “failing to attend the needs and pain of the people” after the quake.
