Turkish singer Hadise has categorically denied any connection with drug use or trafficking in the context of the wide-ranging anti-drug investigation launched by the Turkish authorities, which has implicated around twenty Turkish celebrities from the world of entertainment, including well-known singers, influencers and actors from Turkish TV series.
According to Turkish media reports, Hadise Açıkgöz – the artist’s full name – gave a statement to the Istanbul Provincial Command of the Gendarmerie as part of the investigation launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. During her testimony, the artist explained that her profession is a singer and that she earns a monthly income of between 700,000 and 800,000 liras (between 14,000 and 17,000 euros).
Asked whether she used drugs or stimulants, Hadise replied: “I have never had any kind of relationship with drugs in my life. I don’t use drugs or stimulants. Nor have I shared posts on social media that promote their use. I have never been in an environment where drugs were used and I have never had contact with people involved in the sale of drugs“. “I have not used intermediaries or transferred money related to this matter. I have never in my life been in a place where drugs or stimulants were used,” added the singer, who became famous after her Eurovision Song Contest win in 2009 with the song “Düm Tek Tek”.
The singer’s lawyer, Orhan Erol Müezzinoğlu, stressed in a statement that his client “has always been and will remain an artist committed to the law, social responsibilities and ethical values” and warned that “appropriate legal action will be taken against any unfounded information or comments that violate my client’s moral rights or constitute an attack on her personal rights”.

The drug use investigation launched against several Turkish celebrities is still ongoing and also affects well-known names in the Turkish art scene, including İrem Derici, Kubilay Aka, Kaan Yıldırım, Hadise Açıkgöz, Berrak Tüzünataç, Duygu Özaslan, Demet Evgar, Meriç Aral, Özge Özpirinçci, Mert Yazıcıoğlu, Feyza Altun, Derin Talu, Deren Talu, Ziynet Sali, Birce Akalay, Dilan Polat, Engin Polat, Metin Akdülger, or Ceren Moray.
According to the prosecutor’s office, all of them are being investigated for the alleged crimes of “consumption of narcotic substances or stimulants” and “promotion of drug use”. As part of the operation, the authorities took blood, urine and hair samples for forensic analysis, and after making statements, those involved were released for the time being pending completion of the tests.
