The restoration works of the historic Galata Tower in Istanbul are already underway, and will last until September 15; offices and restaurants of the building will be removed, and it will be transformed into a museum. Built in the 14th century by the Genoese colony of ancient Constantinople, the Galata Tower is not only part of the history of Istanbul, but a true tourist icon of the city.
