A large poll carried out in Turkey and recently released shows the current Turkish president Tayyip Erdoğan as the winner in the presidential elections, winning in the first round with 50.6% of the votes, while his rival of the coalition of the opposition, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, would get 44.8% of the vote.
The survey, carried out between April 20 and May 9, stands out for its broad spectrum, as 65,000 people from Turkey’s 81 provinces were consulted, and also shows Erdoğan’s AKP party as the winner of the parliamentary elections, although it would lose 3 points – the same that wins the CHP – with respect to the 2018 elections, falling below the threshold of 40% of the votes and obtaining 294 deputies in parliament, while the rest of the parties remain at levels similar to those of 5 years ago. The poll, however, was carried out before the third candidate for the Presidency, Muharrem İnce, announced today that he is withdrawing his candidacy, although both this and other polls did not give him great support among the electorate.
