The floods that have affected the provinces of Şanlıurfa and Adıyaman, which had already been badly damaged by the earthquakes that devastated southeastern Turkey a month ago, have so far left 17 dead as there are growing voices of negligence and serious errors in the design of the Abide overpass, in the city of Şanlıurfa, where at least 9 people have died and which was completely flooded; according to experts, part of the pass was built on the bed of a still active river, which was diverted but without taking into account the possibility that it could overflow in the event of torrential rains, such as those that the city has experienced these days, and that reached 200 liters per square meter.
