Azerbaijan, mass grave in Karabakh

Mass grave of Azeris killed by Armenia discovered in Karabakh

Azerbaijan‘s authorities have discovered in Xocavənd (Khojavend), in the Karabakh region, another mass grave containing remains of Azeri soldiers killed by Armenian soldiers during the first Nagorno-Karabakh war, with signs of having been tortured and executed. The area, illegally occupied by Armenia for decades until the 2nd Karabakh war changed the borders in the Caucasus, has been excavated since February by Azerbaijan to find thousands of people who disappeared when Armenian troops invaded Karabakh. The discovery comes days after a video went viral on social media in which Azerbaijani soldiers allegedly shot Armenians who had surrendered, allegations that the Baku government says it is investigating.
