Thousands of Turks marched yesterday on Istanbul’s İstiklal Avenue against terrorism after the attack that killed 6 people on Sunday. The march, under the slogan “İstiklal Bizim” (İstiklal is Ours), was led by the mayor of Beyoğlu (where the avenue is located) and the leaders of Istanbul’s main religious communities, as well as diplomats from several countries with representation in the city.
