Prices in Turkey increased by 38.21% during the month of June compared to the same month of the previous year, according to official data published today by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), continuing the downward trend of the CPI registered since the end of 2022, and marking the 2nd consecutive month that inflation has fallen below 40%. This is the lowest CPI data since December 2021 – when prices increased by 36.08% – largely thanks to the new monetary policy of the Turkish Central Bank (TCMB), which at the end of June turned around the line followed in recent years and doubled interest rates to 15%.
