Coinciding with today’s celebration of the 98th anniversary of the founding in 1923 of the Turkish Republic, historical black and white images of Turkey and Atatürk have come to light, showing parades and celebrations in Ankara for Republic Day: in 1933, only 10 years after the birth of the Republic, and in 1936, 2 years before Atatürk’s death.
