Beşiktaş won in Ankara in a difficult match, which culminated in an invasion of the field and an attack by a fan on a player.
Beşiktaş remains unbeaten in the Turkish league after winning in Ankara on Sunday during the game 5 of the Süper Lig, where they beat Ankaragücü 2-3 to retain the league lead they achieved last week.
Ankaragücü scored the first goal of the match played at the Eryaman Stadium, on the outskirts of the Turkish capital, when Georgian striker Giorgi Beridze scored after 26 minutes of play. However, just 4 minutes later, Jackson Muleka, a new signing for the Black Eagles this season – with whom the Congolese has signed a contract until 2027 – equalized the score.
5 minutes later, in the 35th minute, English striker Dele Alli – another new addition to the club – put the team led by former footballer and current Beşiktaş coach, Valérien Ismaël, ahead with his first goal in the Turkish Super League. With the second half already underway, only two minutes had elapsed when Beridze appeared on the scene again to equalize the match in favor of the Ankara team.
Those from Istanbul would finally get the winning goal in the 74th minute, when Georges-Kevin Nkoudou scored a penalty signaled by the referee. However, the game, far from over, would still experience tense moments: Ankaragücü’s Brazilian defender Marlon Xavier was sent off after receiving a second yellow card in stoppage time; 5 minutes later, still in added time, Josef de Souza received a direct red card, also leaving Beşiktaş with one less player on the pitch in the final moments of the match.

The tension experienced during the match in Ankara would still break out once the referee had already whistled the final whistle, while the players of both teams argued in the center of the field with referee Mete Kalkavan trying to calm things down; at that moment, an Ankaragücü fan ran onto the pitch and went straight for Salih Uçan, kicking him in the air in the back, fortunately without major consequences.
Josef de Souza managed to quickly grab and subdue him by throwing him to the ground, before stadium security personnel took him away. Some Turkish media claim that another Beşiktaş player, Dutch striker Wout Weghorst, also suffered an attempted attack by local fans.
With their victory in Ankara, Beşiktaş is confirmed as an unbeatable team in the Turkish league and remains in the lead for the second day with 13 points, two more than their immediate rival, Konyaspor, who won by the minimum on Saturday in Giresun. Meanwhile, third-placed Fenerbahçe beat Kayserispor 2-0 in Istanbul, while defending league champion Trabzonspor also claimed victory on its visit to Istanbul. Closes the classification at the bottom precisely Ankaragücü, which has only added one point in five games.
