While in many regions of Turkey cold, sub-zero temperatures and snow are common, the weather in Antalya (the main tourist destination on the southern coast of Turkey), with maximum temperatures around 20 ºC and humidity around 50%, makes the famous Konyaaltı beach full of tourists in the middle of winter, many of them bathing in the sea, where the water reaches 19 ºC these days. The good weather will not last long, however, and for the next few days the weather forecasters are predicting rain and even thunderstorms in the area; but the sun and high temperatures will return next week.
