Located in the province of Antalya, a popular tourist destination on Turkey‘s Mediterranean coast, Dinopark is an original dinosaur-themed amusement park that welcomes tens of thousands of tourists every year and where children and adults can enjoy the experience of reliving films such as ‘Jurassic Park’.
According to Anadolu news agency, more than one million tourists have visited the Dinopark since its opening in 2012. Located in Göynük (Kemer district), about 30 km from the city of Antalya, this theme park offers a tour that includes 35 animatronic dinosaurs with a realistic appearance and size, and that move and roar thanks to robotic mechanisms that simulate the behaviour of these extinct animals.
Well-known dinosaurs such as the T-Rex, Apatosaurus and Stegosaurus surprise tourists along a route that runs through dense vegetation to add realism to the experience, while visitors can also learn about these fascinating prehistoric creatures through information panels and interactive exhibits.
Antalya’s Dinopark also offers other experiences, such as a fossil digging area specially designed for children to participate in, as well as play areas for children, projections, a small zoo with farm animals, a swimming pool, a restaurant, a souvenir shop, and a ‘horror park’ for adults. Due to its location on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast, the Turkish ‘Jurassic Park’ has traditionally been visited mainly by Russian tourists, although more and more German, British and Arab visitors are coming to enjoy this unique experience.
