The new battery factory for electric cars that is being built on the outskirts of the city of Gemlik (Bursa) will create 2,000 direct jobs and another 10,000 indirect ones, says the president of the Gemlik chamber of commerce. The factory, with a joint investment of 5 billion dollars between the Turkish consortium TOGG and the Chinese corporation Farasis, will be built next to the factory where the first Turkish electric car will be produced starting this year, and will be directly connected by highway and rail and also by sea, thanks to the Gemlik port.
