70 of the 151 Turkish citizens on board the Greek ferry “Eleftherios Venizelos”, which has been docked in Athens for a week with almost 400 people on board, have tested positive for COVID-19. The ship left in early March from Turkey to Spain carrying a group of workers, most of them from Philippines; after the Spanish government declared a state of emergency due to the pandemic, the ferry returned and ended up in the Greek port of Piraeus, where it remains in quarantine and at least 120 passengers have tested positive for coronavirus.
