Greece, fire at Moria refugee camp

2nd fire completely destroys the Moria refugee camp

A second fire late on Wednesday completely destroyed what remained of the crowded Moria refugee camp on the island of Lesbos, Greece, forcing Greek authorities to seek emergency shelter for more than 12,000 refugees and asylum seekers. Humanitarian organisations had been denouncing for years the harsh conditions of this camp, with a capacity for only 2,750 people and where the hygienic conditions were terrible. In recent days the situation had worsened after dozens of refugees tested positive for coronavirus.
