At least 5 irregular migrants drowned when their boat sank in Aegean waters off the coast of Turkey, the Turkish Coast Guard reported late yesterday, after being able to rescue 11 people alive, including a child. For their part, the Greek authorities reported that, after being alerted by Turkey, 5 survivors of the same shipwreck were found alive on the Greek island of Farmakonisi, off the coast of the Turkish town of Didim. On board the boat were 31 people, most of them from Africa, so the search tasks in the area continue.
