One of the towers of the historical walls that surrounds Istanbul (the former Constantinople), built by the Roman emperor Constantine and enlarged in the 5th century, collapsed on Sunday luckily without causing injuries, due to the curfew in force because of the coronavirus. The collapse occurred after noon in an area located at the confluence of 10. Yıl Avenue and the Adnan Menderes Boulevard, in a tower that was already in poor condition and was reinforced with a metal structure. Just a year and a half ago, another tower just a few meters away also suffered a partial collapse.
