The death toll from the 6.6-magnitude earthquake that struck on Friday İzmir province, Turkey‘s third-most populous province, now stands at 36 dead and 885 injured, as rescue efforts on collapsed buildings continue against the clock. About 100 people have been rescued alive from the rubble; meanwhile, there have been about 400 aftershocks, 33 of them with an intensity greater than 4 degrees. Greece (which has also been affected by the earthquake) and Turkey have offered each other help, as have done other countries.
