About 30,000 tourists visited the mysterious Mount Nemrut (Nemrut Dağı) in Adıyaman, one of the main destinations for tourism in southeastern Turkey, last June. Located at 2,134 meters high, it is a 50-meter-high artificial burial mound built as a royal tomb during the ancient Kingdom of Commagene. In 1987 it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
