24 Turks were among the 288 passengers aboard the Italian ferry that caught a major fire this morning as it sailed near the western Greek island of Corfu, though reports about their condition are unclear. Although no casualties among Turkish citizens have been reported so far, some media claim that at least one of them would be missing. Most of the Turkish passengers were truckers crossing by sea from Turkey to Italy: according to testimonies, many of them saved themselves by jumping into the sea when the fire broke out.
