Turkey was the4th most popular tourist destination in the world during the year 2022, according to data released by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). Some 963 million people travelled to another country for tourism in 2022, highlighting the Mediterranean region as a favourite destination, which represented 28% of tourists globally. France was the world’s No. 1 tourist destination last year, receiving 80 million tourists, followed by Spain, the United States, and Turkey, which ranked 4th with 50.5 million tourists.
