At least 13 people were injured after a powerful tornado tore through Mersin province in southern Turkey. The phenomenon affected the coastal town of Anamur, causing extensive destruction in an area of 5 square kilometers between the neighborhoods of Fatih and Akarca, damaging more than a hundred greenhouses in the area, tearing off roofs and overturning several vehicles. Much of southern and eastern Turkey is on weather alert for storms, which have also caused flooding in Antalya province.
