Turkey, Pamukkale

Pamukkale almost doubled the number of tourists in the first months of 2023

The spectacular white travertine terraces and hot springs of Pamukkale, a UNESCO World Heritage Site along with the ancient Greco-Roman city of Hierapolis, and a favorite tourist destination in Turkey, almost doubled the number of tourists during the first quarter of 2023: between January and March, 229,897 tourists visited this place, compared to 129,469 people who visited it in the same period last year. The healing properties of Pamukkale‘s hot springs, rich in calcium and springing up at almost 50 degrees, were already known to the ancient Greeks, who attributed their “powers” for healing to gods like Asclepius or Apollo.
