A Roman sarcophagus with bones inside has been discovered during demolition works on a building in Büyükçekmece, on the outskirts of Istanbul. Two archaeologists and an anthropologist examined the site and determined that the tomb is about 2,000 years old. Later, the Roman sarcophagus was lifted with a crane and transferred to the Istanbul Archaeological Museum.
