A Japanese citizen, resident for 3 years in the Küçükçekmece district in Istanbul, has been fined with 1,000 euros and transferred to a deportation centre for his expulsion from the country. The individual was intercepted a few days ago by several neighbours at the entrance of his house when he was carrying some kittens in a bucket, and the police had to intervene to prevent him from being lynched. Later, at the police station, he admitted that he took small cats and killed them by strangling them to eat them. “Several kittens in the neighbourhood had disappeared, we saw him catch them” says a resident of Küçükçekmece. “We take care of a cat that gave birth to several kittens 2 months ago, we took good care of them, and they disappeared… We still can’t believe this has happened,” says another.
