Turkey is preparing to celebrate the end of Ramadan and the mandatory fasting from sunrise to sunset, with 3 holidays days that start tomorrow, Friday, and in which millions of people will travel by road to their provinces of origin, to visit their relatives or simply spend a few days on vacation. Many also go to cemeteries these days to pay their respects to their relatives who died in the devastating earthquakes of February 6. Called Eid al-Fitr (Feast of the End of Fasting) in Arabic, this holiday is known in Turkey as Ramazan Bayramı (Ramadan Festival) or Şeker Bayramı (Sweet Festival), due to the tradition these days of giving sweets and candies to children when they go homes of neighbors and friends to wish happy holidays.
