Turkey accuses the US of creating a “terrorist state” in Syria

The US wants to create a “terrorist state” in northern Syria by financially and militarily supporting the YPG, the Syrian branch of the PKK terrorist group, said Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, who in an interview for the The Hürriyet newspaper accused the United States of continuing to support the YPG under the pretext of fighting Daesh. “The YPG wants to divide Syria, and the US is giving them all kinds of support. The PYD/YPG wants to establish a terrorist state, and the United States is training them and supplying them with weapons,” said Çavuşoğlu, adding that Washington is well aware that Turkey is fighting the YPG, and also frowns on the recent rapprochement of Turkey to Syria with the mediation of Russia and Iran.
