A 5-story building in the Sümer neighbourhood of the Zeytinburnu district, on the European shore of Istanbul, suddenly collapsed this morning. The event did not cause casualties because the building had been evacuated after several cracks and noises appeared last night, despite which firefighters were searching this morning among the rubble for possible victims. Another 4 blocks of houses had to be evacuated for safety after the collapse of the building, which had been built in 1995 without a building license.
