In these days when Mars is in the news, these spectacular images of Lake Meke, located in an ancient volcanic crater in Konya (Turkey), in the middle of a landscape covered by snow and totally white, seem from another world. Declared a natural monument and protected area, Lake Meke is sadly on the verge of extinction due to drought because of climate change and the overexploitation of its water resources for agriculture.
