Nearly 20,000 tourists, both domestic and foreign, have visited these curious floating islands so far this year, located in a small lake in the province of Bingöl, in eastern Turkey. Considered a symbol of the city of Bingöl and “a wonder of nature“, the three floating islands have formed naturally in Lake Turnalar, and since 2005 they have enjoyed special protection as they have been declared a natural monument.
