Istanbul and Ankara City Councils have announced that since this Sunday it will be mandatory for passengers who use public transport to wear a face mask in order to prevent infections by coronavirus, which has infected 24,000 people in Turkey and caused 500 deaths. In Istanbul alone, 100,000 masks will be distributed to passengers. Istanbul and Ankara are two of the 31 cities under quarantine since Friday, so entering or leaving them is prohibited.
