Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan paid a visit to Hagia Sophia on Sunday just a few days before its reopening this coming Friday, July 24 as a mosque, after 86 years operating as a museum. During the visit, the Minister of Culture and Tourism and the Governor of Istanbul informed the Turkish President of the preparations inside the building to resume its function as a mosque.
