Cappadocia, one of the main tourist destinations in Turkey, famous for its “fairy chimneys“, its underground cities and its balloon tours, registered a record number of visits during the month of January, with more than 174,000 tourists visiting the region, twice as many as in January 2022. The Zelve Rock Monastery, the Göreme Open Air Museum and the Kaymaklı Underground City were the favorite places for tourists.
