A small bear cub that had been trapped for 2 days in a tree in Akbucak, a small village in Rize province, in the Turkish Black Sea region, was finally taken down after notorious efforts by rescuers, who had to shoot him a dozen calming darts. The animal is believed to have climbed the tree in fear after being caught in a boar trap. Finally the bear cub, about 2 years old, was released into the wild.
