45 dead and 150 injured: this is the latest balance after the worst civil catastrophe in the history of Israel, when during the celebration at dawn on Friday of Lag Baomer, the Jewish holiday of fire, there was a stampede in a narrow corridor that left dozens of ultra-Orthodox Jews who participated in the pilgrimage to Mount Meron – including several children – dead after being suffocated or trampled on by the crowd. Turkey has been one of the countries that has conveyed its condolences to Israel for this terrible tragedy.
